The Hostico subcontracting system has been updated.
The development of the client account continues, with the new flexible subcontracting system and authentication via Remote MySQL.

The Hostico development team has launched a series of new features in the client account, based on the feedback received, aimed at improved overall management, as well as a new Remote MySQL authentication system.
Subcontract Billing
The breakdown of billing for individuals or companies managing multiple services is now possible at the level of the Hostico client account.
The subcontract billing system allows the user to create secondary accounts (subcontracts), which can then be allocated to the managed services, so that proforma invoices are issued on different dates than the main account details.
A subcontract can be allocated to one or more products; therefore, the client in question will automatically be notified via email of every commercial matter. Even if a subcontract is isolated to a service, the account holder will still receive all notifications related to it and will have the ability to update any issued proforma data at any time if the wrong contact was chosen or if the details have changed in the meantime.
For situations where a subcontractor needs to be financially notified for all services in the account (regardless of whether they have been allocated as a billing user or not), we have decided to split the notifications into two categories:
- Isolated notifications (financial emails will be sent only for the services assigned)
- Global notifications (all financial emails from the account will be sent)

The general operating mode as well as the process of allocating a subcontract for a service are detailed in the articles: What is subcontract billing? and Activating subcontract billing.
Subcontracted technical support
As in the case of the invoicing presented earlier, technical support via subcontracting allows the Hostico account administrator to allocate a user who has the rights to request technical matters, thus isolating them from the rest of the services owned.
The respective accounts will be limited to opening technical requests only through email (implicitly through the ticket system), any technical request via live chat that directly concerns a service must be made by the main administrator, who is required to be logged in with an active session. Technical support via live chat without client authentication will be strictly limited to general information that cannot pertain to the services in the account.
The details of support for subcontracts and activation on a service are described in the pages: What is subcontract technical support? and Activating subcontract technical support.
Remote MySQL
For all shared hosting packages, there is now the possibility of requesting MySQL remote access permissions from the Hostico client interface.
The request can be made for two IP addresses simultaneously on a single hosting package, with a temporary or permanent access period.
The temporary addition can be set for a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 24 hours, with the possibility of cancellation from the account if necessary, while for the permanent one, a support ticket will be automatically opened from the client account, with the implementation to be confirmed by the Hostico support department if the reason for the request is justified.

Currently, the IP addition function in remote MySQL is only allowed for shared packages, so if you wish to add it on a VPS, you will need to contact the Hostico technical department.
The procedure for adding an IP to the remote MySQL list can be found in the article: Activating remote MySQL from the Hostico client account
Rate update
At Hostico, we continuously work to maintain competitive prices for all services offered. As a result, price adjustments typically occur only as a direct consequence of actions taken by third-party providers.
The authorized registry for the .com extension (Verisign) has announced a price increase that affects all registrars, thus we too are compelled to adjust our pricing in accordance with the changes made.
Starting from 01/09/2022, the registration, renewal, and transfer fee for .com domains will be updated from €8.99 + VAT / year to €9.99 + VAT / year. Those wishing to extend their .com domains at the old rate have this option until the end of August, by generating a proforma invoice from the client interface, or by contacting the sales department through one of the provided support methods.
The offer for a free domain in the first 12 months upon the purchase of a one-year hosting package will not be affected by this price increase.
Price changes at the domain level will be subject to the following extensions:
