Periodically we tend to present ourselves to customers with new services and features, with implications for time saving, security and data protection, the use of new technologies and management tools.
Due to a high demand over time, we decided to implement an automatic (recurring) payment system for all users who opt for credit card payments.
The recurring payment status can be managed individually for each service held at Hostico through the functionality present in the customer account.
The transactions will be performed automatically on the days when payment notifications are sent, and if there are not enough funds in the bank card account, the payment will be tried again the next day.
For recurring payment to be activated on a service, the first proforma invoice will need to be paid manually, so the payment processor will use the card used in the transaction for the recurring payments.
If you want to change the card used for recurrence, the card has expired or has been lost, you can deactivate the recurrence and the next card used to pay proforma will take the place of the old card.

Web security is one of the most important issues when it comes to a website. Due to this fact, we decided to implement the Imunify360 modular system on all shared packages for free.
The service considerably increases the security of the site, using a multi-layered defense architecture that ensures the identification and removal of threats, respectively blocking the brute force type attacks in a very short time.
Multi-layer protection has the following advantages:
- real-time malware scanning for files uploaded via web applications and FTP clients, respectively;
- web server firewall with regularly updated security rules;
- global firewall with default locks on IPs classified as problematic.
The currently offered Node.js versions are 6.x, 8.x, 9.x, 10.x, 11.x, 12.x, 14.x the activation of new versions and the deactivation of the old ones being done in the future according to the advancement of technology.
WordPress and Magento administration tools
For more technical users or website developers we offer the possibility to use WP-CLI and n98-magerun in order to manage the applications from the command line. They allow you to perform various operations usually available only through the application control panel after authentication.
Using the command line makes it easier to manage multiple applications and reduces the time allotted to these tasks.
We will maintain the SSH access policy on servers that have shared accounts, but will provide access to the cPanel terminal to customers who want to use Node.js, WordPress or Magento administration tools and developers who need access to Composer.
Access to the terminal will be provided only on request and according to the needs of the applicant for fixed or indefinite periods.
The latest major version of PHP has been implemented on Hostico servers, so it can be selected on all hosting packages.
The update brings a lot of optimizations to the programming language with multiple customization possibilities.
The PHP version will not be modified for web sites, this process can be done through the control panels.
Apache Cache / Server side caching
In addition to the default caching provided for PHP applications, via PHP Opcache and the optional one for MySQL, respectively PostgreSQL via Memcached, we now offer the possibility to activate caching at the web server level as well.
This is available through the Apache Cache plugin found in cPanel.
Activation will save pages processed and rendered to visitors in order to eliminate the need to reprocess them, thus leading to a decrease in the level of resources used and response time, as well as increasing the speed of loading sites and the number of simultaneous visitors.
Over time, we have continuously increased the quality of services offered by developing or implementing new services and functionalities as well as by constant investments in the fleet of equipment and connectivity that have implicitly increased the resources offered for hosting packages.
This constant improvement of services, proven by the new features mentioned above, took place simultaneously with the increase of the support team and training of their members in order to increase the level of professionalism and promptness on all three communication channels (chat, mail / ticket, telephone).
Development and improvement has been possible until recently without changing the basic rates of hosting packages or eliminating the free domains offered for purchase.
If there were new offers or configurations for hosting packages, they did not affect the rates of previous hosting services.
If at the last price change from cPanel we fully borne the costs regarding the shared hosting packages, this time we have to change the basic tariff of each hosting package. Specifically, the monthly rate of each shared hosting package will be increased by 1Euro.
However, the tariff change will come with a compensation from us on the part of the resources allocated to the hosting accounts at the level of storage space, CPU and RAM.
Owners of the types of hosting packages Mini, Midi, Maxi (Personal, Business and Reseller) - will be migrated to the new Start, Business and Reseller packages with the resources related to the new tariffs.
As for the owners of VPSs with cPanel and Plesk licenses, unfortunately, the increase in license fees will be directly reflected in the fees they will have to pay for software licenses.
The new configurations and prices will enter into force starting with 01.03.2021 for new orders and starting with 01.04.2021 will enter into force for all configurations activated before 01.03.2021.
Customers who have paid in advance for hosting services, respectively cPanel or Plesk licenses will have to pay the new rates only at the next billing or renewal of the service.
Recently, there have also been changes to the fees charged for the registration, renewal and transfer of domains by registrars providing related extensions.
In order to align ourselves with these changes, we will also make new changes to the tariffs charged for these operations.
Another change in domain fees will be the equivalence of transfer fees with registration fees. The transfer fees for most extensions were 1.00€ lower than the registration fees, but now the amount will be changed to be equal to the registration fee.
The tables below indicate changes to both shared hosting package rates and configurations, as well as new charges for cPanel or Plesk licenses, same with domain registrations and renewals.

The annual fee for registration, respectively renewal of .ro domains was decreased depending on the number of years for which registration or renewal was desired. This decrease will be eliminated, each year of registration, respectively renewal being calculated starting from the basic price for the registration of a .ro domain for one year * number of years.
